Visit London Approved Marque

From April 2010, Visit London will only promote accommodation that meets a minimum standard of service and facilities.

The Visit London Approved Marque is being introduced to help visitors book London accommodation with confidence.

Who Should Apply?

All accommodation providers will need to have the Visit London Approved Marque, including:

  • Hotels
  • B&Bs
  • Guesthouses
  • Hostels

If you already have a star rating, you automatically qualify for the Visit London Approved Marque, and do not need to apply.

The Benefits

There are many benefits to having the Visit London Approved Marque:

  • Your business will be promoted through the Visit London website and other media
  • You can use the Marque in your own marketing
  • Visitors will be reassured that your accommodation offers a certain standard of facilities and customer care

The Costs

There is no fee.

The London Development Agency is offering a 100% subsidy for all Marque assessment visits, as part of its commitment to improving the quality of London's accommodation.

The Process

The Visit London Approved Marque scheme is run by Live Tourism, a tourism consultancy appointed by the London Development Agency.

Once you notify Live Tourism that you would like a Visit London Approved Marque visit, an advisor will call you back within 48 hours.

You should receive an assessment visit within two weeks. The visit will last between one and two hours, and involve a brief chat about your business and a tour of the facilities.
